A very well kept KOA with helpful staff. Lots of amenities. My site was a bit small, even for my teardrop trailer but the staff member who led me to the site was helpful while I was backing in. The Colorado River borders the campground, I saw people fishing off the banks. A nice gas station & convenience store is right next door. Good ATT signal.
Hands down the best campground staff in the world! Bob and his team are the best. They went way above and beyond to accommodate and help us out during our stay. The facilities, campsites, dog park and pool were all in pristine condition. This campground is located right on the beautiful Colorado River with easy access to endless outdoor recreation and activities the area has to offer. If you are traveling through this area this is a must stop. Thanks a million Bob and KOA Staff! We look forward to seeing you again this spring!
Amazing experience! Staff were amazing! We were tent camping, and while we were out getting food on our first night, a severe storm came through, and all our stuff was soaked. Our tent was destroyed, and we didn't know what we could do. It was still raining heavy so we couldn't go anywhere on the motorcycle to get new stuff or anything. Thousands of miles from home and all our belongings and our temporary house(the tent) were in shambles. One of the gals at the front desk offered to drive us to Walmart after she got done working for the day. Luckily the rain let up a bit so we rode over and replaced what we needed to. The staff checked up on us to be sure we were OK. Our time there was wet and insane for sure. But the only reason it wasn't miserable is because the staff were so incredibly kind. Very big hearts at this site! Thank you to the gal that offered us a ride and to the staff that checked up on us! Facilities were also very clean and nice.
We have stay here twice. Once in a campervan and once in a camping cabin. Both times we enjoyed our stay immensely. The campground is clean, quiet and very well maintained. It is near the highway, so if you are sleeping in a tent, the noise …
A wonderful very well maintained RV park on the Colorado River.
We were greeted by a great staff of people making us feel welcome and escorting us to our level sight where did not need unhook our 42 foot 5er from our F250.
Did I mention a boat ramp into the Colorado for use by guest? 🙂
We stayed at the Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA Holiday from July 23 to August 6, 2023. Upon arrival we noticed we were among other arrivals and the entrance to the park is set up in a way that there was limited room for multiple RV’s. The camp hosts were trying their best to navigate each guest to their spots to make room for more arrivals. When we checked in, the staff were friendly and gave us information on our site and campground. As we were among others that arrived at the same time, we did have to wait a little bit to get to our site.
We were in site W20, a level gravel pull-through site that was long enough for our RV, Truck, and extra car, with a concrete patio, fire pit, and picnic table. The site was bordered with grassy areas creating a natural buffer that generously enhanced the sense of privacy between us and our neighbors. Our view and proximity to the Colorado River added an extra layer of tranquility to our camping experience.
The well-maintained campground offers a wide range of amenities, from well-kept restrooms, shower facilities, laundry room to a refreshing swimming pool, Hot Tub/Sauna, a splash park and playground for the kids, a pavilion, a KampK9 enclosed dog park, and in-park fishing in the Colorado River. For added convenience they have a gift shop, on-site firewood, and propane refills available for purchase.
The campground's location is a definite highlight. Nestled along the Colorado River and surrounded by picturesque mountains, the scenery is breathtaking. It's conveniently close to the charming town of Glenwood Springs, providing easy access to attractions such as the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park and the historic Hot Springs Pool that were both bucket list items for us.
A notable challenge we encountered during our stay revolved around the campground's lack of Electric Vehicle (EV) friendliness. Unfortunately, they do not permit on-site charging. Requiring us to go into town, or Glenwood Springs to recharge our car on the days we wished to explore the surrounding area. This aspect did add an extra layer of logistical planning to our stay, as we had to factor in off-site charging for our Tesla, which might be a consideration for fellow travelers with electric vehicles.
One of the highlights of our time here was reveling in the occasional rain, particularly when it led into the breathtaking spectacle of a lightning and thunderstorm. The vibrant dance of lightning and the resonant rumble of thunder combined to create a mesmerizing natural display, turning a simple rain shower into a memorable and awe-inspiring experience that I was lucky to capture some of its beauty.
This campground Is definitely a “KOA holiday” and has so many amazing aspects for all to enjoy, though we did have the EV charging challenge, I would still recommend staying at this KOA.
Wonderful people!! Willing to help when you have issues! Got some time to spend with the property manager when helping to jump start my motorhome. Very kind, understanding and helpful! Will definitely recommend!!
We had such a great time at this rv resort. Every worker we came in contact with was so friendly, it really makes a difference. Our pull thru spot was very spacious and quiet. They have a great pool, splash pad, and playground for the little ones. It is conveniently located next to a quiet little truck stop that has plenty of food and drinks. Driving distance to Aspen and Vail. I highly recommend this rv park.
